Unable to install dependencies

Firstly - sorry in advance if this is something basic that I've not done and am extremely thankful and appreciative for the guidance.

Basically I'm unable to complete 'npm install', 'sudo npm install', 'sudo npm i --force' and all possible npm install variations on a linux terminal

Have followed https://abyteahead.medium.com/how-to-develop-a-dapp-on-vechain-ii-setup-walk-around-109a01bf7ae9 to get to this point

git clone ... cd npm install

Please find attached error log - falls apart around the node-hid.
