magick93 is right. MtApi is using WCF so it can't be compatible with .NET Core.

These events has the same functionality but have different semantics. Event "QuoteUpdated" is old event (from the first versions of the API) and provides values of Symbol, Bid and Ask....

May I ask to try install and test pre-built release https://github.com/vdemydiuk/mtapi/releases/tag/MT4-v1.0.43 ? Will it have the same error for your?

I will investigate possibility to make timeout configurable.
