In-silico digestion rule about start codon methionine

Open llniu opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Hi Vadim,

As always, thank you for developing this excellent tool. We performed library-free mode search against a FASTA file and in the identified peptides, we found a few do not follow trypsin digestion rule. Specifically, it seems that the first start codon methionine is skipped (or cleaved?) for the peptides matched to the very beginning of the protein sequence, like an example shown below. Is this coded on purpose? Thanks a lot in advance for your answer.

Hi Lili, it's the methionine excision GUI option, you can turn this off.
