Code coverage reported on coverals.io includes external subfolder and test subfolder

Coverals.io is showing the project status for all code in the project, including code from sub-modules and test code.

Need to determine how to get lcov to exclude these folders from the reports being generated as this is skewing the code coverage numbers.
