Feature request: filter out unavailable instances

Open multani opened this issue 9 years ago • 8 comments

I'm using the eu-central-1 mostly and there are a bunch of instances which are not available. It would be nice if I could just not display these instances so it makes the comparison even simpler.

It would also be nice I guess if these instances were still displayed on request though, maybe with a visual difference, so that we can see what we are missing by staying in this zone. Something like a switch to say "display / don't display unavailable instances" would be cool.

I'd love to see this, too.

Looks like this is done. Under price it now says "unavailable"

The question is if it'd be possible to exclude these from the listing. Can filtering be done by price?

@blalor Not currently

@multani @blalor hello from the future 😅 regexs are now supported in the filter columns so you can do things like \$ to exclude all 'unavailable' instances image

Let me know if this satisfies this issue and we can close it.

Hi @EverettBerry , I'm not using AWS anymore, but this looks great :)

One issue perhaps: the "discoverability" of this feature may need a hint or something like that, I'm not sure how someone would come up with this filter value if they want to remove the unavailable instances.

That's a great point about discoverability. Need to call that out. Maybe @powdahound has thoughts?

Agree that this is basically undiscoverable. At least I know I'd never think to apply that filter. :)

One idea for a way to expose it: Have a "hide" link next to the "Unavailable" text that fills this filter field?
