Licensing Problem (bug in GFDL declaration)
Hi Varun, I'm referencing version 0.1 of your Vala book as published on github in PDF form. The license blob states
Permission is granted to copy, distribute, and/or modify this document under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.1 or any later version published by the Free Software Foundation; with Invariant Sections being "Preface'', with no Front-Cover Texts, and with no Back-Cover Texts. A copy of the license is included in the appendix entitled "GNU Free Documentation License.''
However, your document doesn't have a section called "Preface". As is, your book doesn't have a license that any licensee could be compliant with.
Could you please re-publish with a fixed license ?
FWIW, I recommend publishing under GFDL without any invariant sections (so Debian would consider shipping this), or, even better, relicense the text unter the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License ) which is used by wikipedia and many modern Open Documentation projects like gnome-user-guide.
Thank you for your consideration, Philipp
Sure thing. Wow I can't believe this is still there. I really should get back to finishing it up. I'd gotten so involved with other things that this just slipped away.
