Thinkpad X1E Gen 1- LEDcontrol breaks Trackpoint
LEDControl's driver seems to be breaking the Trackpoint and Trackpoint keys entirely when running. Touchpad works but gets a bit spotty occasionally. I have to kill the scheduled task and reboot to restore operation.
Does not seem to be affected by a particular LED override- just the act of running.
how did you remove the app?
Thinkpad E495 trackpoint(made by ELAN tech) was also broken. Tried to reflash Trackpoint FW while running LEDcontrol as I don't know about this issue before and killed it. FW reflash after disabling LEDcontrol thankfully restored the Trackpoint.
@valinet Why did you using OpenLibSys.org WinRing0 driver version 1.3.1.19 dated 2009 (according to .dll properties) which could be obsolete? Even VirtualChecker 3.0.1(marked obsolete) from OpenLibSys.org have in its package dll versioned 2.0.0.20.. Could the issue be in the old WinRing0 driver? Seems that https://github.com/GermanAizek/WinRing0 is the successor of original driver, may be it should be used instead? :)
I don’t remember to be honest, this project is 7 years old… it’s what I knew best at the time, idk… Don’t recall a particular reason…
@valinet Glad that you answered me and hope that link provided above will help to solve the issue. ThinkPadLEDControl amazing project! Thanks!
Guess this project ain't active at all any more, but I can at least try it with a little bump :) I want to use this to keep my keyboard backlight running, but have the same issue that LEDControl kills the trackpoint, mouse buttons and keyboard backlight after maybe a few hours up to a day of runtime. Would be nice to have it fixed because I really want my backlight running all the time :)
