Cant seem to install
Windows 10 Lenovo X1carbon 6th gen with i7 8th gen. Told this app could help me keep the keyboard lights on when rebooting or return from sleep. Windows is up to date. upon install attempt windows security gives warnings. when giving permission and running install as Admin, given error of "There was an error loading the WinRing0 driver. Please reinstall the application or reboot the machine."
not sure what to do next.

I just started getting this too after having used this software for over 2 years. It looks like Windows Defender updated and now detects the bundled driver as a trojan. I did some digging and it looks like the WinRing0 driver, despite itself not being malware, is vulnerable to attacks by malware. You could add an exclusion if you want but it would not be good security-wise. Think I will (sadly) just tape over my power LED with some electrical tape.

Also, the above post is suspicious and Firefox flagged the mystery .zip file as a virus.
Add an exclusion in Win Defender
