Please post windows version and build. You can find this by running winver. Please include if you are running x86-64 or Arm. And what language your windows is in. Please post explorer patcher version, by running EP properties application and click on About on the left side.

In EP properties application, click on file explorer, untick register as shell extension and click restart file explorer in the bottom left corner.

Here's why not to enable it: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/Using-ExplorerPatcher-as-shell-extension

Same thing happens to me, every minute or two, especially when i press windows key or change focus from full screen (game) Windows 11 Pro 24H2 26100.6584, polish, current ep version. EP uninstalled - problem dissapeared.

Same thing for me. Seems any time a fullscreen application loses focus, a new Explorer window is launched. I recall having a similar issue maybe a year or two ago.

Register as a shell is disabled. EP Version 26100.4946.69.4 Windows 11, os Build 26100.6584, English.

If you have a keyboard that is plugged in via usb, unplug it and see if it is still happening.

I had the same issue but only during a file transfer (when I was deleting an old backup from my external drive to do a new backup of my system) Win 11 25H2 26200.7171 EP Version: Latest release (26100.4946.69.6) I'm on a laptop: keyboard: integrated, mouse: plugged in, drive for the backup plugged in

Edit: when I launched the making of the new backup it came back but even after that backup finished it didn't stop (well I still have OneDrive in the background syncing a 200GB folder cause I preferred to move the AI dataset on OneDrive instead of my own physical drive due to size limitation so maybe it's still a file transfer causing it)
