Right click a taskbar icon, file history is not displayed.

(English) Right click taskbar icon shows recently files (like Visual Studio) in win10, but this ExplorerPatcher does not show file history. Is there how to show recently files when right click a taskbar icon. Sorry for my poor English. Thank you.

can you show a screen shot of what you mean?

Here you go the screen shot as requested below: image

The image is showing the 'file history' of files used, when right clicking the 'pinned' app/program on the taskbar. In this instance it's the snipping tool.

This feature still works with ExplorerPatcher if using the taskbar Windows 11 style, but not with Windows 10 or Windows 10 ExplorerPatcher taskbar style.

It was working until the latest update.

Thank you.

Please post windows version and build. You can find this by running winver. Please include if you are running x86-64 or Arm. Please post explorer patcher version.

Please include what settings you changed in explorer patcher properties application. These should be screen shots. If you can, please change it to english first.

Please include any other software you have installed that modifies the UI of windows.

Running x86-64 ExplorerPatcher version: image

I also tried the pre-release (same result): image

Also settings are default except for taskbar settings as below : image

NOTE: 1- For the pre-release version, tried both Win 10 and Win 10 ExplorerPatcher taskbar style. Same issue. 2- When Taskbar is at bottom, there is no issue, the recent history files (on right-click) does work.

Please update the subject to indicate it happens when windows 10 taskbar is at the top

@MirrorShadows Update to 66.5. 66.4 has it broken on your build.

Hello,

I'm posting here because i think my issue is linked to the subject. Since the last windows update; the contextual menu (right click) for application in the task bar is not showing anymore. My taskbar (windows 10 version) is top and when i put it bottom; the contextual menu is showing correctly. So i suppose that when the taskbar is top, the contextual menu on applications is showing top (and not visible).

My version is the newest one (22621.3880.66.6)

If you've got 66.5 or 66.6 installed, and you want to use the windows 10 taskbar:

Open up EP Properties application, go to taskbar, and set taskbar style to Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher), not Windows 10. We no longer offer more support on the stock Windows 10 taskbar.

pyrates999 avatar Sep 24 '24 09:09 pyrates999

Closing this issue due to irreproducibility. @gzenio22 Jump View on hovering pinned items with no open windows is a new Windows 11 taskbar feature.

@pyrates999 I have one suggestion for you. If you want to help people by directing them into the right way, and since you daily drive Windows 10, I HIGHLY suggest you to AT LEAST make virtual machines with Windows 11 23H2 and Windows 11 24H2. For the 23H2 I recommend Beta channel. For 24H2 I recommend Dev channel. VMWare Player is free. You can use Hyper-V on Pro editions. Please, if you want to help people instead of making them lost with useless advices, please know the situations beforehand. This way you can be helpful towards me and Valinet by knowing the issues in latest builds without waiting for end users to report them on their own will.

Amrsatrio avatar Nov 05 '24 16:11 Amrsatrio

@Amrsatrio I don't have the disk space right now to do that. I will do that when I do have the disk space.
