Unable to uninstall

配置ExplorerPatcher软件时出现错误这很可能是因为一些旧版本的备份文件被占用，解锁这些文件应该可以修复该问题。如何解锁：·关闭并重新打开ExplorerPatcher"属性"窗口。结束并重新启动所有explorer.exe进程如果已将ExplorerPatcher注册为Shell扩展，那么需要重启电脑。实在不行的话，重启电脑再试一次。

Exact same problem here:

  • Uninstalled all with Revo Uninstaller
  • Deleted all the files
  • Tried uninstalling renaming ep_setup.exe to ep_uninstall.exe
  • Tried reinstalling

NOTHING works... always the exact same message, and EP keeps being installed no matter what... 🤦🏻

I already used Revo Uninstaller, and I thought it worked... but I keep receiving notifications about ExplorerPatcher updates:

So I guess it's still latched like a parasite somewhere... how do I fix this?

Having the same EXACT issue. Can't update to new version. Explorer keeps crashing.

Try this. Set windows defender to exclude the following:

  1. C:\Program Files\ExplorerPatcher
  2. %APPDATA%\ExplorerPatcher

Future updates to EP won't be flagged then.

You can also set windows defender to exclude the directory that you manually download EP to so you can install it without windows defender blocking it.

Try this. Set windows defender to exclude the following:

  1. C:\Program Files\ExplorerPatcher
  2. %APPDATA%\ExplorerPatcher

Future updates to EP won't be flagged then.

You can also set windows defender to exclude the directory that you manually download EP to so you can install it without windows defender blocking it.

I do not use Windows Defender.

Same problems when upgrated. And I uninstalled EP by GeekUninstaller. Then I tried to install 22621.3880.66.4 but same promlems again. Then I tried to fix my Defender but there is another problem as I showed.

The EP works on my taskbar and right click menu well ,but dosen't work on my start menu. OS: Win11 Home 23H2 builds 22631.4112.

And a bug again. The Explorer jumped to Desktop when I umounted USB Drive.

Did you run that script in an elevated powershell?

yes, the third line of the screenshot is system32. And the start menu works after I executed ep_setup.exe /uninstall in elevated terminal. And my Explorer jumped to Desktop when I mounted and umounted USB Drive again.
