System tray flyouts (Win 10) show thick white focus frames (clock date & sound) and missing handle in the volume bar.

Please show a screen shot.

This is also there for me too... I think that @valinet should add a option to remove these frames in settings. This was only there for Win10 flyouts.

Are you running windows 11? I do not see these happening in windows 10.

Please also include the version of windows that you are running. You can find out by running: winver

@Amrsatrio what's ur opinion on this. Can EP adds a functionality to force disable these focus frames in future.

Bruh. 🤷🤷🤷🤷

This happens in the volume flyout in OOBE too. Since 22621.

the volume handle is not missing, I can see it in your screenshot. Maybe the color theme is a little off and your monitor can't handle such low contrast.

Seems like I won't fix this.

This is not caused by EP. See: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/issues/2323

Please close this.

Is there a workaround?

You'll get this even when EP is not installed. no work around that I know of. And it doesn't bother me because I just click on something else and that is no longer highlighted with a white rectangle around it.

Your reply is not addresing the issue. Even though this is part of the functionality of windows that some stupid jerk decided to just leave there so nobody can disable it, ExplorerPatcher is injecting the underlaying white box on top of the first icon even if you NEVER open the start menu with the keyboard. This is clearly a bug.

Ways to reproduce it:

  • set the Start Menu to Windows 11
  • click the Start menu several times with your mouse and then click on something else
  • Next time you try to open the start menu WITH THE MOUSE the start menu will appear with the first icon highlighted.

Ways to reproduce this on standard W11

  • click on the start menu
  • press TAB key
  • the first icon will be highlighted.

This is a bug because ExplorerPatcher seems to be ASSUMING that I'm pressing TAB when I press the start menu with the mouse, which is clearly unintended.

For me, this renders the whole program unusable, please fix this.

The code is available freely. So if you want to prove it is caused by EP, you can look into fixing it, and submitting a pull request.
