If you hold down the Q button, the script works, but if you hold down the E button, the script stops working.

Ahah thanks for the cute diagram. It happens because "E" is default bind for temporarily disabling socd (see fifth row in the config file, and the readme about how it's structured). Rebind it to something else that you don't use and it should be good.
