Feature request: allow to temporarily hide list items

Hi Derek, you know your plugin is fantastic, don't you? :)

In my opinion it would be nice to have the ability to temporarily exclude a list item from a list, without actually deleting. Such items could render as say semi transparent in the admin, could still be draggable, but they'd not be included into the array for rendering on the frontend. What do you think?

It's an interesting idea but not something I can commit time to. If you want to start a pull request though, you are more than welcome.
