Active Mob Fan stopping mob spawns

I'm on skyfactory 3, and my mob farm (works amazingly without mob fans), stops spawning mobs entirely when I have mob fans active.

They all have width upgrades so it covers the whole farm but when they're active, not a single mob spawns.
