100% CPU usage and Out of Memory error causes macOS to hang

Does this extension use lldb-mi now? It is known to leak memory (on creating variables) and it caused my machine to hang. In the past I was able to use CodeLLDB as an alternative to Microsoft's cpptools extension, which uses lldb-mi and it wasn't having the same issue.
