Combobox overlay flickers when no item is matched

Example from the documentation in the custom value section, where entering a key press opens the overlay, which then gets hidden. As you can see, the overlay is shown for a moment, then gets disappears

Expected outcome

I would expect not to see the overlay open/close animation when there is no match.
