Grid column detaches from scrollbar when collapsed

If the columns of a Grid are collapsed to a minimum, the scrollbar detaches from the rest of the grid and an unaesthetic whitespace is displayed:

This is a know missing feature in Grid (see also this ticket: https://github.com/vaadin/framework/issues/10638 ). There are two alternatives, either Grid is resized according to column widths, or last column is adjusted to occupy remaining space. For Vaadin 8 there is add-on that can do this.

This issue was reported again by our customers, today. So I am writing again to ask you to share your plans for this problem with me, @TatuLund . Is there any chance you'll fix this in the V7 compatibility layer? We're currently tied to V7 (compatibility layer) and cannot use the V8 extension linked. As this problem is still open, I hope it will be fixed soon. If there is no plan to ever fix the problem, I would suggest you close this issue?!
