Please, let people know that they can use commit.sha1, commit.sha1_short in templates

Also that templates can point to a full file path, not just the pre-packaged ones.

@vaab I can make a PR to update the sample config with this, as it's the main form of documentation, Will you be able to review and merge that? : )
