Automatic Display of Remote Command Responses in Uyuni Web UI
Short description
Enhancement Request: Automatic Display of Remote Command Responses in Uyuni Web UI
Details
In the current implementation of the Uyuni Web UI, when a user executes remote commands across multiple systems, the responses to these commands are not immediately visible. Instead, users must manually click on "Show Response" for each system to view the outcomes. This process can be cumbersome and time-consuming, especially when dealing with a large number of systems.
The requested enhancement aims to improve the user experience by introducing an option to automatically display the responses of remote commands without the need for manual intervention. This feature could be implemented as a toggleable setting, allowing users to choose between the current manual method and the new automatic display based on their preference.
Suggested Features:
-
Automatic Response Display Setting: A user-configurable setting in the Uyuni Web UI that, when enabled, automatically displays the responses of remote commands executed across systems.
-
Per-User Preference: This setting could be saved as a user preference, allowing different users to choose the mode that best suits their workflow.
-
Expand/Collapse All Responses: For further flexibility, adding buttons to expand or collapse all command responses at once could enhance usability, allowing users to quickly overview or hide responses as needed.
-
Filter and Search Responses: Implementing a feature to filter or search through command responses could significantly benefit users dealing with numerous systems, enabling them to quickly identify success, failures, or specific output.
This enhancement would streamline the process of executing remote commands and reviewing their outcomes, particularly for administrators managing extensive infrastructure environments. It aims to make the Uyuni Web UI more efficient and user-friendly, reducing the time and effort required to monitor and troubleshoot systems.
