Cannot enroll fingerprint after successful installation using `fprintd-enroll` on ThinkPad E590 (device id 06cb:00a2 [synaptics])

I installed this package to get my fingerprint sensor working by following a youtube tutorial, since my sensor is not listed as supported in the fprintd website, after installing i am getting this error... image

also fingerprint login option is not visible on Gnome settings page

Have you tried looking at/performing the steps from the error situations part of the project description?

Also, to get proper help with your problem I suggest specifying how you installed python-validity as well as the distribution you are using.

Edit: Moreover, it appears to me that you device (06cb:00a2) isn't supported by python-validity. See https://github.com/uunicorn/python-validity/blob/ae76d37821477fe606a705a1aa0137c79d6397b1/validitysensor/usb.py#L16
