Permanent freeze with VM Settings

Open nottruee opened this issue 6 months ago • 2 comments

Describe the issue Idk what to really say here. UTM doesn’t seem to handle keyboards that well. After editing MAC address or just having the keyboard up, with advanced settings on, go into port forward, then go back, you will freeze, and your device may start heating up. It seems you can also do this with Guest Network, Guest Network(IPv6), Host Address, Host Address(IPv6), DHCP Start, DHCP Domain Name, DNS Server, DNS Server(IPv6), and DNS Search Domains. This happens on both UTM and UTM se and as far as I know, this freeze is permanent until you restart the application.

This seems to be a UI issue I couldn’t really debug it and see though You can see a video here

Steps to reproduce

  1. open UTM
  2. make a new VM
  3. open VM Settings
  4. open ‘Network’
  5. turn on advanced Settings
  6. edit ‘MAC Address’ or anything in advanced Settings
  7. Scroll down to ‘PORT FORWARD’ click’New’
  8. Click the back button which should be ’Network’
  9. then it should freeze

If you sit here for to long you’re device should start heating up

This was tested on v4.7.0(Beta) v4.5.5 v4.5.3 Likely effected more

Configuration (required)

  • UTM Version: v4.7.0(Beta)
  • OS Version: iOS 18.5
  • Device Model: iPhone 16 Plus
  • Is it jailbroken (name jailbreak used)? no
  • How did you install UTM? SideStore

Crash log didn’t crash

Debug log This doesn’t really matter because it’s out of the VM I will still add one anyway debug.log

Upload VM (Optional)

Just realized this has something to do with the keyboard being up so you don’t need to edit anything

I think it has fixed itself on iOS26 can anyone else try it?
