UTM crashes few minutes after gui started in guest
Describe the issue I'm using UTM on ios, running a ArchLinux guest, with Mate DE. Enabled gpu accel.
Configuration
- UTM Version: 4.6.5
- OS Version: 18.5 beta
- Device Model: ipad M4 (2024)
- Is it jailbroken (name jailbreak used)? no
- How did you install UTM? SideStore

debug-2.log (This debug log is got when I shutdown the vm fast enough in the gap when the screen freeze but utm ui is still responsive, so the log seems indicate that qemu quit normally. In reality in every other trials, the app just crashed. (but only in this way I can get GL related logs, in other cases seems GL logs are not stored on disk before UTM crash)
This issue disappeared after changed to use qxl, but the performance is much worse than virtio-gpu. Hopefully this issue can be solved in the future.
EDIT: Just tried glmark2, confirmed that it's a gl issue, crashed nearly immediately after glmark2 launched.
Looks like a memory allocation failed. You might have run out of memory, can you try lowering the memory to 1024M and see if it still crashes? The GL renderer is really memory hungry and that's on top of the memory you allocate to host (2G) + the JIT cache (512M)
