Describe the issue
I’m running a Windows 11 ARM virtual machine on macOS (Apple Silicon) using UTM. Until a few days ago, the shared clipboard (copy/paste between macOS and the VM) was working perfectly. Now it suddenly stopped functioning. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

1.Verified that Spice Agent and Spice Service are running in Windows. 2.Checked UTM settings to ensure “Shared Clipboard” is enabled. 3.Confirmed that the Display in UTM is set to virtio-ramfb (since that’s the default), but I’m unsure if it’s properly using SPICE. 4.Reinstalled Spice Guest Tools for ARM in the Windows VM and rebooted. 5.Made sure macOS permissions (Accessibility, Input Monitoring, etc.) are granted to UTM. 6.Disabled antivirus/firewall in Windows to rule out blocking. 7.Noticed that the Windows C: drive shows a BitLocker “Pending Activation” lock icon, but I’m not certain if that’s relevant. 8.I’m on macOS 15.3.1, and UTM shows QEMU 9.1 ARM Virtual Machine (virt-9.1) in the VM info. Despite these steps, copy/paste between macOS and Windows 11 ARM still doesn’t work in either direction. I haven’t changed any UTM settings, and it was functioning normally just a few days ago. What I Expected Copy/paste to work seamlessly between the macOS host and the Windows 11 ARM VM.

What Actually Happens No text or data transfers over the shared clipboard in either direction.

Configuration

  • UTM Version: 4.6.4
  • macOS Version: 15.3.1
  • Mac Chip (Intel, M1, ...): M3Pro

Debug

debug.log

Upload VM

Any help resolving this shared clipboard issue would be greatly appreciated. If you need more information, please let me know.

Yeah, I had something similar happen, but on Linux, so I just wrote my own replacement tool that works over TCP.
