Cannot toggle `Read Only?` checkbox for macOS shared directory

Open giovannidisiena opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Both host and guest machines are running macOS 15.1. The guest is shut-down, and a shared directory has been created, but it is not possible to toggle the Read Only? checkbox. The following message is displayed at the top of the window:

Shared directories in macOS VMs are only available in macOS 13 and later.

Configuration

  • UTM Version: Version 4.5.4
  • macOS Version: Sequoia 15.1
  • Mac Chip (Intel, M1, ...): M3

The "read only" checkbox cannot be changed after adding a shared directory. To change it to read-only, you need to remove the share, then add it again this time checking "Add read only" before clicking add. I know this is a bit complicated so I will leave this issue open to improve the UI in the future.

Added a hint text for the checkbox and also fixed the layout so you don't have to scroll down to see the add/remove/readonly elements.
