Capture input devices not working with macOS guests

Open mdahshan opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Hi,

I am facing an issue with macOS guest not capturing input devices.

First, the "Capture input devices" icon looks different than with other QEMU VMS.

Screenshot 2024-04-04 at 1 15 01 pm

It looks like an [x] icon instead of the pointer icon.

Clicking on this icon has no effect on the input devices. All keyboard shortcuts and trackpad gestures are always captured by the host.

I am using UTM version 4.4.4 (92) on an M1 Pro Mac host.

Host OS version: macOS 14 (Sonoma) Guest OS version: macOS 14 (Sonoma)

The VM was created by following the wizard, changing only the memory size to 8GB.

I appreciate any help.

that's because there is no "capture input devices". The tooltip should be updated I think

Does that mean that there is no support for such functionality for Apple Virtualization VMs?

I'm also really curious about whether this is technically possible. I really want to use mouse buttons (that map to keyboard shortcuts) for Mission Control / Spaces both inside and outside of my macOS VMs.
