Windows 10/11 installation - Hard disk is not recognized
Hello everyone, I am looking for help .... I need to install windows virtual machine, I have tried with win10 and win11, but it does not detect the hard disk to make the installation.... could someone help me with this?
I have macbook m1 pro and want to install windows 10 or 11 preferably amd64 if not arm. UTM version 4.2.5
attached installation image and config.plist file
Thanks.
config.plist.zip
I'd suggest downloading and then mounting the guest tools as another CD drive. The latest version seems to be 0.164.4. Not sure if windows includes drivers for qemu's nvme drive.
Then, you can Browse for more drivers and, after pointing it to the drive, it should load the driver and show the hard drive.
Hope it still helps.
help it is not working
If you are installing windows on macbook M1 You may encounter an error Hard disk not recognised, This is because to install drivers you need to separately download spice tools drivers. To directly start download click on this link: https://github.com/utmapp/qemu/releases/download/v7.0.0-utm/spice-guest-tools-0.164.4.iso
Open your virtual machine and select on drive Image options
click on change
then select the spice guests tool file and click open
now go in finder and click to install, then it will be automatically rebooted and drivers will be installed. Hope it helps.
