I am not able to reproduce the bug. Do you see a progress indicator when opening the .utm? Can you use File -> Open (Cmd+O)?

i have a similar issue. i moved a macos12 vm to a different folder (it was originally located in a very nested folder) via the Clone function. now when i open UTM it shows a grayed out placeholder for the macos vm which displays an error message that it needs to be removed and re-added via File->Open. While this works and the macos vm can be used, the shortcut becomes invalid upon closing UTM and opening UTM anew.

i performed the same steps with a Ubuntu vm (moved to a different folder) but that does not have this problem and works as expected.

UTM v 3.2.4 (58) Macos 12.5 guest Macos 12.5 host M1 Pro

I see that my issue has been fixed in the 4.0.0 beta.

"(macOS) Fixed running from shortcut in Apple VMs (no longer need to re-import after each launch)"

thanks!
