I like what the BBC has done here with GEL.

How can we expose more information to developers and designers as they are leveraging the USWDS?

This seems like a useful base to build on and modify for a USA context.

I just see this as being a very comprehensive documentation to help explain to developers and designers why certain design decisions have been made. This type of documentation on design system components is rare. This link might have been better - https://bbc.github.io/gel/
