Host on Google fonts?
We don't host with Google Fonts right now, but I'd like to work to make that happen.
There's already an issue created for it https://github.com/google/fonts/issues/1923 by @davelab6.
Is someone following this up? From what I read in google/fonts#1923 there's a number of things that need to be fixed in order for it to be published. I would do it myself if I could but unfortunately I have 0 knowledge about the technicalities of fonts.
Following up on that now...
Any news or update on this?
@wouterds I help with on-boarding fonts to Google Fonts and I'm working on Public Sans this week.
I started a PR here, but the Google Fonts bot wanted me to split the PR between Roman and Italic styles, so look for two new PRs soon.
Anything blocking, help you need? Is there something I or someone else can do to make this happen?
Hello, may I know what is the status of this issue? Thanks :)
Does anyone have an update on this one? I'm curious about a timeline - my life would be a lot easier if Public Sans was available for a project this summer so I'm dying to hear an update! Thanks to all that are working on this.
I ended up manually generating webfonts with transfonter 😕.
I am in over my head on this one so I don't even know what that is or how to do it :(
Thanks for taking the time to reply to me!
I made two new pull requests to Google Fonts today for Public Sans v1.005 from commit: 4c9f0fab4659bcab309fe3ab03abe45be704b108. One for the Roman style, and one for the Italic. Each has some issues that have been reported by the Google Fonts Bot that will need to be resolved. I'll start making issues here on the upstream repo suggesting fixes.
Please see the PRs if you are interested in the status of Public Sans on Google Fonts:

Thanks for your patience.
I don't know how this effort is organized, but I really think getting Public Sans onto Google Fonts should be a high priority. It is critical to the adoption that I'm sure the authors would like to see, and Public Sans fills a very real need that other typefaces do not.
(For example, the day IBM announced their bespoke, open source font, it was available on Google Fonts.)
Hi all — I've been working to clean up both the font and our build process before getting into the GF pipeline. I just want to make sure we're in as stable a place as possible both with the typeface and the build/binaries before moving to GF. I've addressed a number of issues/errors and I expect we'll be able to get the onboarding process moving in earnest by August. Thanks for your patience and interest.
Ha. Believe me — I know this is taking a long time, but sometimes things go slow. This is one of those times.
