Loading System Preferences>Notifications page freezes browser when subscribed to large number of groups

Navigating to the Notifications section of the System Preferences page reliably makes my browser freeze multiple times. The actual list of groups appears to load at first, but I can't scroll down and the browser usually produced an error popup 1-3 times before loading. Average time before actually loading is ~1 minute.

Relevant fact; my ship is in ~400 groups.

System: Chrome on MacBook Pro.
