Not sure you need to do all these steps.
So your trying to get us go let all the unused app to not go in sleep mode. I don't like it these app's, I force to stop so they don't use all my data and memory from Ram. I understand to turn off battery optimization for just clipto, but why all the other app's? Doing this will give you less time on your device by consuming the battery within a couple of hour's. If you really think I should do all these steps, I think you should explain in a little more detail for why to let all the app's to continue consuming battery?
Hi, you don't need to do this for all apps, we're not trying to get you to do anything. This site is a help site. If you find that some of your apps are being stopped by the system at times they should be working, this site provides the steps to help you with that. Of course the apps will use battery when they run. They won't use the battery when they don't run. The point is that it should be up to the user to decide what can and cannot run on the phone, right?
I have a Samsung device so it's the worst of the worst and I've disabled all the system optimization methods Samsung has added... BUT
Despite doing that I still manually added some apps to the deep sleep state setting, and a couple in the regular sleep setting. These are apps I don't use often like games and some other things.
Its the really important stuff you need to ensure can run and I know from experience. My text messages would sometimes get delayed if I was using wifi because of RCS. My Gmail would get delayed too.. in fact anything that sent the message over the internet was at high risk of delay.
Doing the steps on the website fixed that and thank god it did. I could have missed an extremely important family event the week before Christmas had I not disabled Samsung's garbage.
