Modelo-2.0.4 - individual jitsi on mobile phone sort of works but ...
testing individual jitsi on dev-app (Modelo-2.0.4) on mobile phone:
- on first loading the stage and going to the Meeting tool, i could see my thumbnail in the toolbar and drag it onto the stage, however the lightbulb did not work, i couldn't turn it on
- after reloading the stage, i discovered that i could put my webcam on stage and turn it on! :+1: but about seconds later, it removed itself from the stage.
- i was also looking at the stage on my laptop at the same time, & saw the coloured buffering icon, but it disappeared before i saw the stream.
- i reloaded the stage on my mobile, and this time was able to put the individual jitsi onto the stage, turn on the lightbulb, and the stream appeared and stayed there. but i am not seeing anything on the laptop except for the mute icon.
- i reloaded on the computer and briefly saw the buffering icon, then nothing, only the mute icon.
- then i noticed that on my phone, the stage is now showing as offline ... so reloaded the stage on phone, it shows live, placed the jitsi webcam there, turned on lightbulb, seeing coloured webcam on phone. only seeing mute icon on laptop.
i've also tried putting a jitsi webcam on from the laptop, and the same happens in reverse: on the laptop i see the webcam fine, but on the phone there is only the mute icon. this needs to be tested with more people, i will find a time with @vickis

today i managed to get the individual jitsi working from my phone - by installing the firefox browser. then the thumbnail showed up (in my other browser the thumbnail never appears in the toolbar). i could see and hear my stream on my phone. on the computer, i could hear the stream and see the frame of the object, but the video stream never appeared.
hi, i've come back to this issue because we have been trying to use the jitsi meeting and individual stream on mobile phones today & it's not working. it is possible for some to see their thumbnail, but impossible to put it onto the stage. dragging it on either does nothing, or the image appears for a second then immediately disappears. also with the meeting tool, when i activate it from my laptop and try to join from my phone, it tells me to use the jitsi mobile app, which does not bring me into the meeting on the stage.
it's quite important that we can do this from phones. is there any chance you can look at it soon?
good news - this does now work on phones! i was able to send an individual stream quite easily from my phone, & also see the stream i was sending from the computer.
the meeting is more difficult on the phone, because - at least on my phone - instead of opening directly to the meeting it asks me if i want to join the meeting in the Jitsi mobile app or on the browser. i have to scroll down quite a long way to find the browser option. when i find that and click on it, i'm then in the meeting within UpStage. if i click to open in the Jitsi app, which is the most prominent and easiest option, it then takes me out of the stage completely and opens the jitsi app.
i think for now we have to live with this, & simply alert mobile phone users that they need to scroll down and click on the browser link. i can't think of any other workaround at the moment but it would be good if in the future there was a way to avoid this interruption from jitsi.
