problem to fix, who also has nvidia graphics card, try reinstalling the driver from the latest update in GeForce Experience, I immediately checked Upscayl and everything works!!!
try updating to .5 first @NayamAmarshe is there a way for the website to always download the latest?
got this same weird error for no apparent reason. was working fine before. maybe it was from an Nvidia driver update and I need to power cycle? we'll see, I might power cycle my Linux system someday soon.
I installed the vulkan SDK from here and it seemed to work after that
