UniFi-Poller: Client DPI - InfluxDB Dashboard

Open lslamp opened this issue 1 year ago • 10 comments

I have just reinstalled influxdb and downloaded all the dashboards again. FYI, I replaced my old USG 3 with the new UXG Lite There are a few items that are blank, but I will ask about those in a different issue. For the dashboard "UniFi-Poller: Client DPI - InfluxDB" all measurements are blank and showing no data. image Can you please provide me some guidance to see if I can try to figure this out.

Thanks Lawrence

Site says None. That's the start of your problems.

@davidnewhall I have added 5 dashboards and 4 work without any changes made on my behalf. This last DPI had not data. I looked into what you suggested about no Site. I added ALL as you can see below. Nothing has changed. Still no data.

Very strange. Any further suggestions.

Has that dashboard ever worked? Is DPI enabled in the controller and in unpoller?

davidnewhall avatar Feb 20 '24 10:02 davidnewhall

I have just checked and the answer is yes. I do have DPI set.

To be clear, yes this panel did work before, but then unifi changed the data type for some of the information. As a result of this ALL my grafana dashboards broke. I then flushed the influxdb, clearing all my data, downloaded the new grafana dashboards and all my old dashboards started working. Only this one did not deliver data.

So I assume, but do not know how to validate if the unpoller is enabled for DPI. I will keep reading t see if I can find out.

Thanks Lawrence

Do the unpoller logs show it collecting DPI data? Is there DPI data in InfluxDB?

davidnewhall avatar Feb 20 '24 14:02 davidnewhall

@davidnewhall I have checked and I see no logs related to unpoller. All the logs I find appear in the syslog file. below is an extract from the syslog related to DPI 2024-02-21T08:10:21.694700+01:00 ICANUNIFI unpoller[96022]: 2024/02/21 08:10:21 [INFO] UniFi Metrics Recorded. Site: 1, Client: 40, Gateways: 1, UAP: 3, USW: 7, IDS/Event/Alarm/Anomaly: 0/0/0/0, DPI Site/Client: 1/58, Point: 1002, Fields: 6527, Err: 0, Dur: 85ms

It seems that restarting the service has started delivering data. How can I extract the unpoller logs into it's own logs

How can I extract the unpoller logs into it's own logs

~~Set a log file in the configuration.~~ Wrong app.

It seems that restarting the service has started delivering data.

Does this mean you have graphs now?

davidnewhall avatar Feb 21 '24 18:02 davidnewhall

@davidnewhall Yes sir, I now have graphs. See below. image

Some of teh panels have no data but I think that uis because the device that is being monitored does not deliver any data. It is a MAC address so do not know what devices is not showing data. Your graphs look great. Thank you. Also Thanks for the prompt support you have provided.

You say that I can add logging in the config file. How do I do that?

Thanks in advance Lawrence

Sorry this app has no log file. You'll have to configure syslog to route the message to their own file.

@davidnewhall This helped me loads. I now have a log file unpoller.log

Thanks Lawrence
