Chrome deploys deep-linking tech in latest browser build despite privacy concerns

Something I read recently and I thought I should share it because of the privacy concerns:

The article mentions that a Chromium engineer said "we are still working on adding an opt in/out" but I guess ungoogled-chromium should not rely on Google caring for our privacy but perhaps have a patch which removes that anti-feature.

Unlikely. Google consider it a feature, not a bug.

There is a runtime flag for this thing, so I think it is possible to patch it out.
