Feature request: Fuzzy filtering in all views

I'm joined in lots and lots of rooms. As a consequence, it's sometimes hard to find what I'm looking for.

iamb already has search via / and n/N which helps to a degree, but what would really be best is a filtering capability, such that fuzzily matches your input and hides all entries in a view (e.g. the :rooms view) which do not match. Bonus points for also highlighting the matched part.

Stretch goal: Coming with this idea from (neo)mutt, it also supports a bunch of patterns using the special char ~, for selecting certain semantic subsets of entries. This concept could be stolen for iamb's :rooms view to, for example, show only encrypted/unencrypted rooms, or only public/private, etc.
