Teamviewer replacement question

Open nickbe opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

I'm trying to replace teamviewer for a considerable time now. Is there some way to realize the simple connection process with UltraVNC?

UltraVNC works best in internal networks if you want to connect to a machine that's in the same network. There are a lot of instructions online on how to set up such a connection and they're quite simple to follow.

But if you want to connect to machines outside of your network (over the Internet) there are other TeamViewer alternatives. I personally don't use UltraVNC over the internet.

See here for alternatives: https://alternativeto.net/software/teamviewer/

Once everything is setup and info saved in your VNC Client, it's doesn't matter if it's lan or wan.

I do recommend encryption though. I'm using SSH with no issues but you could also use the built-in methods.

You can check out https://rustdesk.com/ . It is an open source, free for all, available on all platforms and similar to AnyDesk/TeamViewer/UltraViewer.
