[ISSUE] Upgrade to 3.5.0 results in disabled firewall and all rules lost

Open madduck opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Describe the bug F-Droid upgraded AFWall in the background. None of the rules or preferences were migrated from 3.4.0, and the firewall was left disabled, meaning my phone was unprotected for a while before I noticed. I cannot import the export I previously made (#977), and so now I have to start from scratch.

I am perfectly happy to donate and support this software, and I appreciate very much that you are giving me a way to do so without Google. I've just donated, though I really didn't like the feeling that the 3.5.0 upgrade forced me to do so.

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Device: OnePlus 5t
  • Android OS: LOS 17.1

I experienced the same issue on Oneplus 7T Pro OOS 11 upgrading 3.5.0 to 3.5.1.

I make backups with Titanium and I can restore other versions of the app and data. This way, I was able to go back and forth and test updates.

In the previous version, an export of only the rules imported fine after the update. YMMV.

I am also on the + version (donate), which may matter since it offers extra features? Either way it looks like some of the settings are not backwards compatible?

I can confirm that this issue happens when upgrading from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2.

Same issue, OP 7T Pro, OOS11. The issue remains from 3.5.0 to 3.5.2. Nothing changed.

I had the same issue from 3.4 to 3.5 but it worked from 3.4 to 3.5.2.1.
