[ISSUE]Need often reboot after changing settings

Open freebrowser1 opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

After changing the settings, sometimes a message 'Error applying roles' is toasted.

Then I disable the firewall an re-enable it and it persists and even 'disable firewall' sometimes results in 'error purging iptables'. Purging ('Show rules' => 'Purge rules') sometimes even fails with the same message.

After a reboot everything appears to be OK.

Firewall Logs Please get the log from Menu -> Show Rules -> (menu) Export to storage and attach it here

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

I have similar errors here, while applying custom scripts AFWall will fail to apply at seemingly random points, after failing, if I retry, it either fails immediately or shows a buggy 'Applying Rules' screen where the numbers keep changing in a seemingly nonsensical way.

Rebooting usually fixes the issue and rules apply sucessfuly.

Also seen it happen when disabling the firewall, 'Error purging rules' messages and the firewall stays enabled.

On another note, custom scripts seem very unreliable and hard to use, there's absolutely no support for debugging custom scripts, no error output from what is being executed, so it's really hard to know what is actually happening, but I've observed that when sourcing very large sets of rules with custom scripts, it'll fail and usually cause the aforementioned applying bug, forcing me to reboot. However, if I split all the rules into many files, I've been using 200 lines per file, it seems to work OK.

Device is a Moto G9+ (Odessa) running LineageOS 18.1
