What's the way forward? This is a real blocker now. Someone want's to fork it if @christopherthielen isn't interested in maintaining this anymore?

If it helps, I patched the library using pnpm and it worked perfectly.

I don't use pnpm, but I'll give https://www.npmjs.com/package/patch-package a try.
