Get Pomodoro status via Applescript

I'm trying to do the same thing. The examples suggest that the pomodoro status is available via a special string "%@", but for me that just returns %@.

In fact tell application "Pomodoro" to get pomodoro_name also returns "%@"

(I'm using version 1.3.5)
