Cannot Install Firmware
I have followed your instructions and can run the program. It detects my TrackIR but tells me I have no firmware installed. So, I have a couple TrackIR drivers already downloaded. Tried 5.3.0 and 5.4.2 wine exits after opening a tmp file and I get a wine box saying that installation completed but was interrupted before finishing installing TrackIR5 (I have TRackIR4) then I get a box from linuxtrack that tells me there was an error running wine and "There was an error when extracting the firmware, will try the analysis just in case...Please see the log for more details." then another box that says: Some of the files needed to fully utilize TrackIR were not found! Please see the log for more details.

I tried running the TrackIR driver install 5.4.2 through wine and it ran fine but linuxtrack still does not detect firmware present. TrackIR files are all present within the wine directory and the program can be run but does not detect the device, whereas linuxtrack detects the device but doesn't see the files. I'm stumped. lol
Hello, if you are able to extract the stuff manually via wine, you need to open the ltr_gui, press the Install Firmware button and use the Extract from unpacked button - then browse to the wine prefix where the TrackIR software got installed and select the TrackIR5 directory (usually under ProgramFiles(x86)/NaturalPoint)... It should extract the necessary files and allow your TrackIR to work... Kind regards, Michal

I did not realize I had to manually enter the path into the /.wine/ directory in home. I was trying to find the directory using the gui provided, which does not show hidden directories in /home.
Firmware installed, now off to test and learn how to set up for American Truck Simulator!

Rather than creating a topic, I take the liberty to post here since my issue is very similar. I've tried several versions of linuxtrack under my Debian Jessie system and I'm unable to install the firmware for my TrackIR 5.
None of the files can be extracted... I've even installed a TrackIR driver on a Windows system and copied the ProgramFiles/NaturalPoint/TrackIR5 directory on my Debian system to analyze it with the "Extract from unpacked" option but it didn't work and none of the files were extracted.
- It tells me the TIRViews.dll file couldn't be extracted while it is present in the directory I'm giving to it.
- For all other files (poem1.txt, tir5.fw, ...), I can't even find them in the driver directories
Am I missing something ? Thanks :)
Hi, I cannot install the Trackir firmware either. I use the last version of the linuxtrack: linuxtrack-0.99.19hid. I don't know where to find the log.
Hello, if you have access to either to windows computer of Linux machine with Wine, unpack the drivers there and then extract the necessary files using the extract from unpacked... Kind regards, Michal
