Hello,

you mention in your description that you are searching for the best way to establish UCUM as a broadly-used international standard. I am working on a project in which we plan to use UCUM and OGC standards, and I am also interested in broad UCUM adoption and standardization. I talked to Carl Reed of the OGC and asked what might be an appropriate path for UCUM in OGC or ISO. The OGC has a relationship with ISO; GML and WFS started out as OGC specifications and were eventually taken over by ISO. If you are interested in discussing further standardization Carl recommended that you get in contact with him (creed AT opengeospatial.org).
