Support for JPEG (v1.0.2 - fmt/44) to JP2 conversion?

Hi all,

Why doesn't OpenJPEG support JPEG versions, like for example v1.0.2 - fmt/44, to JP2 conversion?

Its says over here: https://github.com/uclouvain/openjpeg/wiki/DocJ2KCodec#usage it only supports these formats as input: BMP, PGM, PGX, PNG, PNM, PPM, RAW, RAWL, TGA and TIF.

I started an experimental implementation, but it is still not useable and needs more efforts until opj_compress -i image.jpg -o image.jp2 works. Any help is welcome.
