GIMP 2.10.2: Open Location fails: volume doesn't implement mount

Open marcelpaulo opened this issue 6 years ago • 3 comments

Opening an image from a HTTPS location fails with error:

volume doesn't implement mount

Here's a screenshot when I tried to open an image:

The error is the same for HTTP locations. The flatpak version doesn't have this issue, so it's not a GIMP generic issue. Pun aside, snap GIMP is so much snappier than flatpak GIMP, I'd rather use snap GIMP, but as I edit images from HTTP(S) locations quite frequently, I'm forced to stick to flatpak for now.

Discussing this issue on https://forum.snapcraft.io, we suspected that perhaps the desktop-launch script is not setting the required environment variables for the appropriate gvfs backend to work.

I'm running GIMP 2.10.2 on Xubuntu 18.04.

Been having this issue for quite some time now. Started happening after I switched to an SSD.

I doubt this is related as well: Access to NAS drive - forum - snapcraft.io
