xenial: VLC media player crashes in Libertine

Open TartanSpartan opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

  • Device: arale
  • Channel: RC
  • Build: 2018-W30

Steps to reproduce

Start VLC by touching the application on it's scope or via a shell command.

Expected behavior

The application starts.

Actual behavior

The application crashes on startup.

Logfiles and additional information

http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/5nWZhyhSYm/

Could this be the result of a flawed recent VLC ARMHF build, as is the case with trying to run Firefox in Libertine on Xenial UT devices?

Hi! Something similar, but a little bit different, happened to me..see below

  • Device: krillin
  • Channel: 16.04/stable
  • Build: OTA-4

Steps to reproduce

Create a new container from Settings->Libertine and install vlc package

Expected behavior

The application starts with everything ready to use

Actual behavior

The application starts but, everywhere I tap, a new window of the application opens which never stops loading.. vlc

Logfiles and additional information

/home/phablet/.cache/upstart/application-legacy-xenial_vlc_0.0-.log -> https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/HG9n8v4Spm/

Another weird thing is that the container name I chose was media
container

but, by listing in the terminal all containers installed, the container name is xenial container_list

Any ideas or explanations? Thanks a lot in advance!

seems that vlc is unhappy about it's own plugins ...

should be retested with xenial
