Help to modify the FW

Hello, Thanks a lot for your project!! it's awesome that we can find some more info about this!! i need some help i just need to edit one file in my NVR FW at this link (http://download.dvr163.com/NVR/normal--NVR/16lu%20NVR/FWHI3616N6_20200708_NVR_N8216-2_2_8_9_13_23D22310.rar)

I need to edit this files:

1. /etc/init.d/S99 Enebale the telnet string removing the # Adding this string that call a script from this path, /media/entrypoint.sh So i cloud use this for running other stuff etc.

2. Remove the root password from /etc/passwd file.

Could you help me? unfortunately i'm not exepert about this :-(

Hi, you need to extract firmware with either binwalk -E .. or unsquashfs command, then add needed changes. Then you can make rootfs with mksquashfs command.
