When video is open, play button restarts the video

When I open the video on this player, I do not see the pause button as the video is playing, I see the play button, and when I press it the video starts from the beginning. The same happens when I press Space key.

Nothing happens when I press Ctrl+S which should be responsible for stop.

Running openSUSE Tumbleweed with baka-mplayer installed from packman repositories.
