License is not clear
Hello Theodore,
Some of the files in the folder, 'https://github.com/tytso/e2fsprogs/blob/master/e2fsck/' has references to license of the respective files; but the references are ambiguous. e.g. the reference statement reads,
'This file may be redistributed under the terms of the GNU Public License.'.
From the reference text, the license and the version of the license are not clear. Can you please let me know the license that applies to files that have such reference sentences? @tytso
There is a pretty explicit set of licensing terms in the NOTICE file in the top-level of the e2fsprogs sources. You're right that it would be good to clarify the licensing terms, and/or delete them and add a reference to the top-level NOTICE file, and/or add SPDX notifications.
But until I can get around to adding these, you should be able to find what you need by looking at the NOTICE file.
